Morning Breath

This simple breathwork technique is an effective and brilliant one to do in the morning. Ideally, try and sit up and relax into your body for this breathwork. You’re going to start by taking a deep inhale through the nose , pause, then take a exhale through the mouth. You can do five rounds for this breath. Feel your sit bones touchthe earth and relax wherever you are doing this. This technique will relax and enable you to reconnect your mind, body and spirit.

Box Breathing

This breathwork technique will calm the sympathetic nervous system down. You can use this technique where you need to maintain some focus. Whilst doing this technique, imagine a box, you’re going to breathe in through the nose for 4, pause for 4, exhale through the mouth for 4 and pause for 4 once more. You can continue this breathwork for four rounds.

The Cyclic Sigh

The Cyclic Sigh is really good at helping regulate the breath, respiratory rate and boosting your mood. It will also help to increase your lung capacity. For this technique you can do this for a five minute period. Start by taking in a deep breath in through the nose. From there take an extra sip of air without exhaling. Then exhale nice and slow and long through the mouth. It’s very calming and you can do this lying down or seated.
