What is an IM Shot, and what do they do?

An IM shot, also known as an intramuscular injection, is a method of delivering a specially formulated mixture of vitamins and nutrients directly into the muscle tissue. This technique is performed by a qualified nurse, ensuring that the procedure is both safe and effective. The entire process is relatively quick, typically lasting around 15 minutes, making it easy to fit into a busy schedule.

Our IM shots are designed to serve as an ideal supplement for your body, addressing various health concerns. They are particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing fatigue, those looking to manage their mood more effectively, and anyone dealing with a slow metabolism. Additionally, these shots can support the health of your hair and nails, promoting overall well-being.

When administered, the vitamins in our IM shots are delivered straight into the muscle, allowing for quicker absorption into the bloodstream. This method enhances the body’s ability to utilize the nutrients efficiently. Many individuals report feeling the positive effects of these injections for several weeks after treatment, making them a valuable addition to a wellness routine.

By incorporating IM shots into your health regimen, you can take proactive steps toward improving your vitality and overall health.

What is involved in an IM Shot?

Step 1 – Consultation
Your journey towards optimal wellness begins with an initial consultation with one of our highly trained team. During this important meeting, you will have the opportunity to discuss your health goals and what you hope to achieve through the treatment. This is also a time for you to ask any questions you may have about the process. We will take the time to listen to your concerns and will create a bespoke treatment plan tailored specifically to address your unique needs and health objectives. This personalised approach ensures that you receive the most effective care possible.

Step 2 – The Treatment
The next step involves a qualified prescriber who will numb your arm to ensure that the experience is as comfortable as possible for you. Once you are ready, the prescriber will administer the shot, all while you relax in our soothing environment.

Step 3 – Aftercare
Once your IM shot has been administered, there are a few aftercare steps to follow. You will need to apply gentle pressure to the injection site for about two minutes to help minimise any potential bruising. Afterward, it is important to place a plaster over the area and keep it covered for at least an hour to protect it. If you notice any bruising or swelling, using cold packs and elevating the area can help alleviate these symptoms.

While post-IV infusion symptoms are quite rare, dehydration is often a contributing factor to any discomfort or concerns that may arise. Therefore, we highly recommend that you drink plenty of water after your treatment to stay hydrated.

In some instances, patients might feel tired or slightly unwell following their treatment. This response is usually linked to the detoxification process, where toxins are released from the tissues and re-enter the bloodstream. This is a natural part of the healing process. Once this cleansing phase is complete, many individuals report an overall improvement in their sense of well-being and energy levels.
