Senior Physiotherapist MSc, BSc (Hons), MHCPC, MCSP
Mary qualified as a physiotherapist in 2009 after completing a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Science at Glasgow Caledonian University. Prior to this she undertook a BSc Honours degree in Physiology and Sports Science at Glasgow University.
Mary worked for several years in the NHS in Glasgow whilst simultaneously working part time in football at Club and National level in both the men’s and women’s game respectively. After 5 years in football she made the move to London to take up a full time role as Head Physiotherapist at Arsenal Ladies Football Club.
Her interests and expertise lie in treating musculoskeletal injury and she has a keen interest in the lower limb and in particular, conditions of the knee, developed after her vast experience in football.
She utilises a mixture of manual therapy skills and prescriptive exercise to develop a patient centered rehabilitation programme to help restore function.
More recently Mary has become a Level 1 Apos Certified Physiotherapist. Apos therapy is an innovative and individual treatment method for knee and back pain and other musculoskeletal disorders. This has significantly developed her skills in Biomechanics and Gait Assessment allowing Mary to assess and treat using a foot-worn biomechanical device providing a non-surgical and drug free treatment to this patient group.
